Technique
– Mezza Filigrana, a delicate, spiral-shaped striped pattern, is created by twisting the hot glass
and blowing out the glass rods.
Vita
– In 1921, Venini and Cappellin opened a glass factory on the islands of Murano under the name Vetri Soffiati Muranesi Cappellin Venini & C. After disputes, Cappellin withdrew from the company in 1925, taking most of the company’s master glassblowers with him and starting a rival company. Venini reorganized with new glassblowers and, initially as Venini & C., achieved a position as a design leader among the Murano companies.
