The history of painting and furniture making is inseparably linked to the history of civilization. From Baroque writing desks to Postmodern chairs – works of art, antiques and design objects invariably reflect the lifestyle, fashion and technical possibilities of the time in which they were created. In our globalized world, interior design has taken on a multicultural style that emphasizes the modern zeitgeist in a coexistence of antiques of various cultures, styles and periods.
From Art Nouveau to contemporary interior design
Studio N°5 presents a wide range of works of art from the 20th century to the present: Poetic Jugendstil, clear-cut French Art Déco and sophisticated Italian furniture designs from the 1950s to the 1970s – arranged with Black African tribal art, unique Murano glass objects and Venetian mirrors. Avant-garde paintings from Spain and France also take center stage, complemented by mid-century ceramics, designer lighting fixtures and contemporary sculptures.
